FREE Orthodontic Treatment Program Now in BC

Smiles 4 Canada is an initiative of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists.

The program provides free orthodontic treatment for children under 14. Applications are assessed on financial eligibility, based on the federal government criteria Federal Low Income Cut-Offs (LICO), published by Statistics Canada.

Accepted applicants receive treatment from BC orthodontists who donate their time and one set of retainers.

  • Children MUST have good oral health and have a regular dentist to monitor their dental health during and after treatment.
  • Parents pay a one-time, non-refundable $500 program administration fee if their child is accepted.
  • Parents are responsible for the cost of replacement retainers, maintaining their child's dental health, and transportation to and from appointments.
